What We Believe
At Lighthouse, we are firm in our beliefs and we know why we believe what we believe, but we are not forceful about it.

The Bible: We believe that the Bible (King James Version) is the sole authority for faith and practice for the believer and for the local church. A church is not based on the culture nor the opinions of man. All doctrine discussed rests entirely upon the reality that the Bible is without error.
We do not believe that the Bible only "contains" the Word of God; we believe it IS the Word of God. We believe no further revelation is needed until Christ returns. The Bible is to be completely obeyed because it is the Word of God.
Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.
Salvation is by grace alone. It always has been and always will be. Salvation is not by works, nor by baptism. Men serve God because they are saved, not in order to be saved. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Salvation is through the gospel.
The believer is eternally secure in Jesus Christ.
Local Church
We believe in the authority of the local church. We stand for the truth and are not ashamed of that truth. We are taught how we are to behave ourselves at church through the written Word of God. We are not allowed to conduct ourselves in any manner that society dictates to us.
We do not believe that all churches are the same and that they all teach "sound doctrine", therefore not "just any ol' church will do". God is the One that sets people in the body as it has pleased him.
It is a local church and not universal. You must "gather together" in order for it to be an assembly. The universal church does not gather together on Sundays to worship the Lord. That universal assembly will take place one day in the future.
We invite all people to come to our church. We are called to take the gospel to the Gadsden/Attalla area, therefore, we are obedient to the Lord's Word concerning this.
There is a literal Devil that seeks to destroy your life.
There is a literal Hell that all lost souls go to, with literal fire. The only way to escape Hell is through Jesus Christ.
